3 Card Poker Rules
3 Card Poker is a fun, easy to learn game with a low house egde of 2.5%. 3 Card Poker rules are simple and most players catch on right away.
To start a player has a few options. There are two types of bets which are available in 3 Card Poker, "Ante" and "Pair Plus". Players may choose to play either one or both.
The ante is a bet that a player must make if he/she wishes to play against the dealers hand.
Pair Plus is a simple bet that player's 3 card hand will contain a pair or greater. The Pair Plus pay table is listed below.
After bets are made, the player and the dealer are each dealt a 3-card hand. If the player has bet an ante (to play against the dealer), they have a choice to make. The player may fold the hand and lose the ante, or make another bet equal to that of the ante to stay in the hand. If the additional bet is made the dealer shows his cards. In order for the dealer's hand to qualify he must hold at least Queen high.
The possible outcomes:
- Dealer does not qualify - Ante bet paid 1-1, additional bet returned
- Dealer qualifies and player wins - Both bets paid 1-1
- Dealer qualifies and ties player - Both bets push
- Dealer qualifies and dealer win - Both bets lose
Players can also collect an Ante Bonus on hands greater than a straight. The Ante Bonus table is listed below.

3 Card Poker Strategy
Playing Strategies
The strategy is simple; fold any hand which is lower than Queen high (ex 9s 6s 3h). However, be careful not to mistakenly fold a straight or flush!
Betting Strategies
The are probably dozens of betting strategies for 3 card poker. I have seen people that play the Pair Plus only and swear by it. Other people stick to the ante bet. My opinion is that the Pair Plus bet makes the game more fun because if you happen to get lucky a $10 bet can turn into $400 whereas a straight flush hand with only an Ante bet will not be nearly as lucrative. I suggest making equal bets on the Ante and Pair Plus.

Random Gambling Quote:
They were burying a high-roller in Las Vegas and a few of his gambling cronies were gathered grave side when the minister said; "Gus is merely sleeping." His best friend was heard muttering: "I've got a hundred that says he's dead."
